If you’re in the market for a brand new car, you might be tempted to explore Kia lease deals for the newest member of the Kia lineup, the EV6. Not to be confused with the band from the late 90s/early 2000s, Eve 6, the EV 6 is Kia’s first fully electric car, and it’s truly an impressive vehicle.

Emad decided to take advantage of the Kia lease deals at his local dealership. He was interested in going fully electric to help save on his fuel costs. He liked the idea of being able to charge at home and knew Kia was on to something with this new ride.
Ultimately, Emad is thrilled with his decision to go with the EV6 and doesn’t regret not going with another EV out there. Of course, he did say that if he could go back in time, he might opt for the higher-level EV6 GT, but no one can blame him for that.
What It’s Like Living With the Kia EV6
Emad was able to put a few thousand miles on his EV6 over the first months he had the car before speaking with Out of Spec Reviews. The EV6 uses either a single motor mounted on the rear axel or an electric motor mounted on both axels. Emad when went with the AWD mode that comes with two motors and a larger battery pack. While he is happy with the 320-horsepower configuration, he sometimes thinks he might prefer the 576-hp setup.
Emad most drives his EV6 in the city but still enjoys around 274 miles of electric driving range. The larger battery pack is rated for up to 310 miles, but that includes more highway driving than what’s involved in Emad’s regular commute.
As for charging, Kia says that the EV6 can be charged from 10% to 80% in only 18 minutes with the 350-kW fast charger. Kia also suggests that this charger can add 70 miles of driving range in about five minutes. The regular charger needs about seven hours to get from 10% to 100%. Emad primarily charges his car at home and finds the process pretty straightforward. There isn’t much worry about not having access to the Tesla Supercharger Network out in public. For the few times that he needs a charge while he’s out and about, he’s been able to use the non-Tesla network without issue.
Only A Few After-Purchase Changes
While Emad is happy with his purchase, there are a few things he’s updated since bringing the car home. For example, he opted to add 20-inch aftermarket alloy wheels and got a wrap job to add some black coloring to the exterior.
Emad loves the idea of having Over-The-Air (OTA) for the vehicle, but none of the updates so far have used this capability. He’s had to download the updates to a USB drive. This isn’t a huge hassle, but he’s looking forward to not having to worry about it anymore.
