The Chevrolet Bolt Begins its Eastward Deliveries

As an EV the place you would expect the Chevrolet Bolt to begin being delivered is in California. As the strictest state in the country in regards to emissions, this was going to be where this new long range and highly affordable car would be delivered first. Chevrolet made a promise to begin shipments of the new Bolt EV before the end of the 2016 calendar year. In order to make this happen, three Bolt models have already been delivered to customers to let them begin their enjoyment of the new model that’s perfect for the ride for these owners.

Now that Chevrolet has made good on this promise they can begin to move the Bolt eastward to deliver this car to the rest of the country. The goal is to have this new EV offered across the country by the end of 2017 to allow all 48 of the continuous US states the ability to enjoy this car on the roads in every area. As this car is beginning to move toward the eastern part of the states, hopefully the electric charging infrastructure will move this direction as well, but this is a car that you can charge at home overnight and have the range you need.

The new Chevrolet Bolt EV is built to offer you the range and price that makes this one of the most affordable Electric Vehicles on the market today with the starting price of $37,495 but once customers use their federal tax credit of $7,500 the price will drop to below $30,000. This marks the first time in the history of the automotive market that an EV has been sold for less than $30,000 after the tax credit has been taken while giving us the range we want. Other models have been on the market at this price or less, but these models have needed a gasoline backup for added distance, but the Bolt will only have the electric motor for its power.

The Bolt can handle only using this type of power because of the expected 238 miles of range from a full charge in this EV. This is currently expected to be a better range than the new Tesla Model 3 that will be offered on the market by the end of 2017. This means Chevrolet beat Tesla to the punch by nearly a year and offers a vehicle that has better overall range than the Model 3 will bring with its 215 miles of range.

Two of the new owners of the Bolt EV have traded in other EV models for this new one. One was the owner of a BMW i8, which is certainly one of the most impressive hybrid sports cars on the market and the other traded in a Toyota Prius for this new Chevrolet model. As the Bolt makes its way across the US, there will be many more owners who trade in their current hybrid models to have this amazing new car as the one they want to drive.
