As an EV the place you would expect the Chevrolet Bolt to begin being delivered is in California. As the strictest state in the country in regards to emissions, this was going to be where this new long range and highly affordable car would be delivered first. Chevrolet made a promise to begin shipments of the new Bolt EV before the end of the 2016 calendar year. In order to make this happen, three Bolt models have already been delivered to customers to let them begin their enjoyment of the new model that’s perfect for the ride for these owners.

What is Holding Back EV Sales

We talk about the EV’s becoming the future of the automotive world and we even see where some of the new models have reasonable driving range, but for 2015 the total sales of EV cars was less than one percent of the market. There are now 25 plug in models that you can choose from but most consumers are not ready to make the change from gasoline to electric propulsion for one simple reason; driving range. Most of these electric cars off driving ranges that wouldn’t even fill a full day of commuting, which then means we need to have either a backup gasoline engine for further driving or we need to have a way to charge the batteries quickly.

Why are So Many Car Companies at the Consumer Electronics Show?

Kicking off the new year this year was the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.  You might expect to find a wide array of gadgetry at this show as different companies and inventors bring their latest electronic creations to the show to display and demonstrate but what you might not expect most of the time is finding a plethora of automobile manufacturers there.  What is going on, why do we see so many automakers showing up at this type of show?  You would think the fact that there are auto shows they would have enough of their own, but there are at least five great reasons to be at CES.
