Car companies want to attract as much of a diverse audience as possible and knowing that a certain age group prefers a specific vehicle makes it less attractive to others when it becomes known as a car that will only work in a certain age group.  Brands such as Buick, Cadillac, GMC, and Lincoln have been known to attract older buyers even though these companies have built models in recent years to gain a larger audience and attract a much different crowd.  Strangely enough this can sometimes happen with a car that looks like it could have or should have been attractive to a younger crowd.

Toyota Camry: Most American Made Car

Every year Cars.com puts out a report on which cars are the most “American” made vehicles in the US. Previously, the Ford-F150 held the title of Most American Vehicle, but this year there is an upset. The Toyota Camry claimed title to that name this year. The website puts out an annual American-Made index, which considers the percentage of domestic parts in a vehicle, final assembly place, and overall sales.

Vintage Rides from a Brand that is now Extinct

Even though Oldsmobile is no longer one of the many GM brands due to the government bailout in 2008, there is still a place that pays homage to the 100 year history of the brand.  Amazing that a brand that lasted a full century was gone from manufacturing with just a bankruptcy, but sometimes companies have to trim the proverbial fat, in this case the bailout saw the removal of Oldsmobile and Pontiac from the GM lineup among other trimmings as well.  To take a look at was part of this long and storied history, a visit to the R. E. Olds Transportation museum in Lansing Michigan give us a reminder of what once was for this GM brand.
