Breaking Down the SUVs From Toyota

Toyota has a wide range of SUVs in its lineup, from the compact Toyota RAV4 to the family-
friendly Highlander, and the burly off-road favorite 4Runner. No matter what type of SUV suits
your needs, Toyota most likely has one for you. Let’s break down some of the different SUVs in
Toyota’s lineup.

Toyota Corolla Cross

The Corolla Cross is the entry-level Toyota SUV and the smallest in the lineup. It comes in eight
different trims, including the XSE hybrid trim. The standard Corolla Cross with a combustion
engine comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 169 horsepower.

Toyota RAV4

The RAV4 is one of Toyota’s most iconic SUVs. It’s credited with starting the crossover craze,
and even now, it’s the best-selling SUV in the United States with only the full-size trucks from
the Big Three ahead of it. The Toyota RAV4 has gotten bigger over the years, but for many
drivers, it’s the perfect size and combination of efficiency and versatility. It also comes in the
RAV4 Hybrid and the RAV4 Prime.

Toyota Venza

The Venza stands out as the only Toyota SUV that comes solely in a hybrid powertrain. Its 2.5-
liter four-cylinder and three electric motors are the same as what’s in the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.
However, the Venza commands a slightly higher price due to the more upscale styling on the
inside and outside. The Venza is slightly larger than the RAV4, but has slightly less room inside.

Toyota Highlander

The Toyota Highlander is one of the most popular family SUVs with accommodation for up to
eight people. The Highlander also comes in a hybrid version. The non-hybrid comes in six
different trims. The base trim starts under $40,000. The latest engine is a 2.4-liter turbocharged
four-cylinder that makes 265 horsepower and 309 pound-feet of torque.

Toyota 4Runner

Unlike the rest of Toyota’s SUV lineup, the 4Runner is more at home once it leaves the
pavement. It’s considered the off-road specialty vehicle in Toyota’s SUV lineup. The 4Runner
features a truck frame, a burly exterior design, and a wide range of off-road options and
upgrades. The 4Runner comes in six trims, including an off-road version with even more off-
road ability than the regular models.

Toyota bZ4X

The bZ4X is the newest member of the Toyota SUV lineup and the automaker’s first all-electric
SUV model. The bZ4X can seat up to five passengers and comes with a single electric motor
that makes 201 horsepower. You can also get a dual-motor version that makes up to 215
horsepower. The FWD model gets up to 252 miles of range, while the AWD version gets slightly
less at 242 miles.

Toyota Sequoia

The Toyota Sequoia is the largest and most expensive SUV in Toyota’s lineup. The Sequoia
uses the same platform as the Land Cruiser, which is no longer available in the United States.
The standard powertrain for this large SUV is a 3.4-liter V6 paired with an electric motor to
deliver 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque.

As you can see, Toyota has a versatile lineup of SUVs that includes many options to meet the
needs of almost any driver.
