The popular Honda CR-V is returning to your Honda dealer this summer, and even though most trims will look much like they did last summer, there’s a new CR-V coming to town, and it’s ready to take on your adventurous side. The CR-V TrailSport hybrid is getting the TrailSport treatment, plus a few extra tweaks.
The TrailSport Is Not New
If you’ve shopped for a vehicle or just wandered through a Honda dealer sales lot recently, you’ve probably come across the Passport TrailSport. It’s been around since 2022, offering some added off-road-ready equipment and a unique, more rugged style than the rest of the lineup.
The CR-V TrailSport Hybrid is the first Honda to offer the TrailSport features with a hybrid powertrain, giving you the best of both worlds. You can conquer off-road terrain without having to think about when you’ll have to fill up your gas tank.
What Do You Get with the TrailSport?
One of the things that will make the CR-V TrailSport stand out is the distinctive paint option available. The Ash Green Metallic exterior color, along with TrailSport badging and silver exterior accents, makes this an SUV worth looking at. It comes standard with all-wheel drive and rides on Continental CrossContact ART all-terrain tires. These tires will help give you better traction when the going gets tough, whether it’s mud, sand, dirt, or snow.
Inside, you’ll sit on cloth upholstery and get heated seats for added comfort. Orange stitching on the seats and steering wheel gives the TrailSport a fun look.
Hybrid Power Keeps You Going
The TrailSport is available only with the CR-V’s hybrid powertrain. It combines a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine with two electric motors to produce 204 horsepower. This is 14 extra horsepower over the non-hybrid CR-V models.
Along with hybrid power, the all-wheel drive system has been tweaked for the latest model year to improve off-road performance when you’re traveling at low speeds. If you’re traversing some dirt roads and driving under nine mph, the traction control system can detect when the tires slip and transfer power to the wheels that still have some grip on the road surface.
Technology for on the Road and Off
No matter where you go in the CR-V, it has the technology you’ll need to stay informed about what’s going on around you and keep you connected to friends and family. 7-inch touchscreen sits in the dashboard of the entry-level trims and comes loaded with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to make syncing your phone a breeze.
The EX-L trim, which, above all, has a larger 9-inch touchscreen and adds a bunch of wireless tech, allows you to sync your phone and keep it charged without having to plug it in. The higher trims also upgrade the stereo to an eight-speaker system, giving you better sound quality and more volume for those drives when you want to turn up the volume.
The latest CR-V TrailSport hybrid is the perfect addition to the CR-V lineup if you’re looking for an SUV with a rugged look and feel.
