The top off-road trim is the ZR2, and not only does it come with a strong and efficient diesel engine option, but the number of truck accessories it either comes standard with or offers as an option is staggering.
The New for 2024 Diesel Powertrain
For 2024, Chevrolet added a Duramax 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine to the 1500 ZR2 lineup. It brings 305 horsepower, which is less than the 6.2-liter V-8 gas engine that delivers 420 horsepower, but it has some extra torque to make up for it. The Duramax gets 495 pound-feet of torque compared to the 460 pound-feet you get with the gas V-8.
If you want to talk fuel economy, the diesel engine is more efficient, too. It can get up to 20 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway.
Off-Road Equipment for Any Terrain
The Chevy Silverado ZR2 is a standout when it comes to off-road conquering. It has the truck accessories and equipment you need to make any type of off-road driving look easy. One of the best things about this truck is the Multimatic DSSV dampers. These shocks provide a huge benefit for off-roading where extra wheel travel is needed, but they also make on-road driving smooth as well.
The underside of the truck is protected by several skid plates, and the high-mounted steel bumper allows a 31.8-degree approach angle. To top it all off, the ZR2 has 18-inch tires wrapped in 33-inch off-road tires.
It’s Got a Lot Going on Inside, too
Take a seat in the Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 and one of the first things you see is the slick dashboard with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a huge 13.4-inch touchscreen. The truck accessories don’t stop there, though. It has a center console between the front bucket seats with a T-shaped electronic shifter, and since the ZR2 comes only with the crew cab, there is tons of passenger space.
The touchscreen comes loaded with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, it works with Amazon Alexa, and it has Google Built-In voice assistance. No matter what type of phone or assistant you use at home, you can get it in this truck.
