The Mustang Keeps Getting Better

If you want to drive a Mustang that offers you the manual transmission and no power steering of the old school models you’ll be sorely disappointed. In fact there is a good chance the car will drop the 3.7-liter V6 from the lineup but other items will be added to make this a better car to drive than it’s been in the past. For 2018 the plans are in place for the Mustang to receive some impressive improvements to make it a car that is even more performance oriented on the road and on the track.

Not only will this naturally aspirated engine be dropped, but a new ten-speed automatic transmission will be added. Don’t worry, you can still buy a V6 Mustang, you will have to buy the EcoBoost model or the 5.0-liter V8 model. The new transmission that will be offered will give smoother shift points and make it even easier for you to have the shifting you want to enjoy and be able to admire the smooth ride that you have with the 2018 model of the Mustang. There are other changes that will be offered as well to give you a ride that is even better than before.

The Magnethorlogical dampening will be offered on all Mustangs except the Shelby models as well. This is the MagneRide that will be given to make the ride softer and more comfortable on the road or on the track. There will also be a new Performance Package offered for both engines to make sure you can have the performance you’re looking for on these cars from Ford. One more addition, a new dual exhaust option, which can be added to the Performance Package to make a track special car that could take on the Camaro 1LE.

The new transmission might be replacing the current six-speed automatic or it could be offered as the third transmission offering in the lineup. This means you could choose between the two, but we won’t know which one is meant for what type of driving until Ford shows us this new setup and gives us some performance numbers. This will make a huge difference in the drive for those of us who want to take the Mustang for a long road trip and have a great time wherever we want to go, but it may also be right for the track as well.

Another change that might be coming is a 4.8-liter V8 engine that could be ready soon, but there hasn’t been any word as to whether or not this engine will be ready for 2018 or not. There are even more changes that will come down the pipeline over the next couple years as Ford works to make the Mustang even better than it’s been in the past, which was already an amazing car. All we need now is to have one of these cars that we can take out for a ride to see if it’s really the car we want it to be and more.
