All-Season and Touring Tires
All-season and touring tires are the most common type of tires. The majority of people in America live in places where you can keep the same set of tires on their cars all year round. These tires can do it all. They are good for snow, rain, heat, and are comfortable enough to drive on. Touring is slightly better for cars that typically go higher speeds. You can find these tires at any tire shop.
Winter and Summer Tires
If you live in Colorado, you are going to need a set of Winter tires. When it comes to driving on snow and ice, a set of Winter tires will do the trick. You won’t need to leave these tires on for the entire year, but they are incredibly useful come wintertime.
Summer tires would be great if you lived in Florida and Nevada, where the weather is typically hot and muggy. These tires offer better grip and handling and are better suited for hot, humid days.
All-Terrain and Performance Tires
All-terrain tires are for cars that go off-roading. These tires could be used in the snow, but they are better suited for scaling rocks and driving up steep inclines. If you drive a Jeep or a Ford Bronco, it might be worth your while to buy a pair of these.
Performance tires are designed for speedy vehicles. You will typically see performance tires on a sports car. They offer good handling at high speeds.
Spare Tires
Ask your tire shop if they sell spare tires. If you ever have a tire pop, it will come in handy to have a spare in the trunk.
